Nehru Zoological Park

Located at Bahadurpura area in Hyderabad, Nehru Zoological Park is visited by a large number of tourists throughout the year. One can easily reach this park traveling in a public transport from Hyderabad city. It is a big sanctuary housing lots of wild animals. The main attraction of the park is its various species of animals and birds, Lion Safari Park, Natural History museum, Museum of Pre-historic Animals, etc.
Spreading over an area of about 300 acres of land this wildlife sanctuary houses almost 1500 species of birds, animals and reptiles. The animals found in this park are Indian Rhino, Asiatic Lions, Royal Bengal Tiger and White Tiger, Black Panther, Giraffes and Black Bears.

What can be more thrilling than a jeep safari in the lion park of the Nehru zoo? One can go on a jeep safari as the Park homes both African as well as Indian Lions. Setting your adrenalin rush you can watch the big cats waiting for a prey.
Reptiles like Giant/Star tortoises, water turtles, estuarine crocodiles in open pools, monitor lizards and chameleons, hooded Indian Cobra, Russell's Viper, Giant rock-python, tree snakes etc are found in Nehru Zoo. The herbivorous animals are Elephants, Rhinoceros, Hippopotamus, Zebras, American Bison, Antelopes, Black Buck, Chousingha, Chinkara, Deer, Sambar, Brow Antler Deer,etc.
While visiting this zoological park one must explore the Natural History museum that houses ancient artifacts and dummies of extinct animals and the Nocturnal Birds Park where one will spot owls, lemurs, etc. The pre-historic museum houses pre-historic creatures like computerized dummies of dinosaurs.
